Welcome to Amersham Town Council Website
We hope that this website enables you to familiarise yourself with the Town Council's role in the community. If you have any comments or useful information, we will be delighted to hear from you.
The Town Council was established in 1974, replacing the existing Amersham Parish Council (est 1895) in the local government reorganisation of that year.
The Town Council has 15 members who represent the Wards of the Amersham community, Amersham On The Hill, Amersham Old Town and Weeden Hill. The Town has a population of approx 15,000.
Amersham is known as the 'Gateway to the Chilterns'. The Historic Old Town, with it's abundance of listed buildings forms the cultural heart - a natural setting for our regular civic events.
Further up the hill is the more modern top town, with the station that provides regular train and tube links into London. On our doorstep lies acres of Chiltern countryside, an area of much acclaimed outstanding beauty.
We hope visitors will enjoy their stay in Amersham - we know our residents love living here.
