WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECOGNISE A LOCAL HERO? ATC ARE CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS FOR CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2019

Has someone you know gone above and beyond for the community? Have they done something AMAZING & you feel they should be recognized for their achievement? Then why not nominate your local hero for this year’s Amersham Citizen of the Year Awards.

Town Mayor, Cllr. Caroline Jones, would like to invite you to nominate the unsung heroes in the community for a Council Citizen of the Year Award, which recognizes the people who do so much for our community. Nominations are sought in five categories this year – Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Team of the Year, Environmentalist Award and the Young Citizen of the Year.

We are also seeking nominations for The Martin Phillips Award for Community Engagement. Grants of up to £250 are available to charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations in recognition of their work in the community. The Martin Phillips Award for Community Engagement was established in 2017 in memory of Councillor Martin Phillips who championed community work in Amersham. The closing date for nominations is Friday 22nd February 2019 with the presentations taking place at the Annual Town Meeting on Monday 18th March 2019. The event will start at 7.30pm at the Kings Chapel, 30 High Street, Amersham HP7 0JD.
