Heritage day 2014 in Old Amersham

Our biggest event of the year proved triumphant with residents and visitors turning out in their thousands to celebrate Heritage Day in Old Amersham.

The sight of the Steam Engines puffing past the Market Hall brought back memories of a bygone era while proving one of the most popular attractions at the event, which has something for everyone.

Children enjoyed Punch and Judy Shows and mini steam engine rides, while the adults were entertained by roving Morris Dancers, shanty singers and a stunning display of classic cars. The Chesham All Girls Marching Band captivated the crowds while the Gardens of Remembrance played host to the Chiltern Jive Club and Soundforce Big Band. Crafts people demonstrated their skills and sold their produce, while the medieval re-enactment group ensured that everyone went home happy.

A huge thanks to all the residents and visitors who helped make the event such a great success.
