Results on the Consultation for the future of Hervines Park
Hervines Park is a special place with over 28.5 acres, including 12 acres of preserved woodland. An area of outstanding natural beauty – the new development of the Hervines Pavilion needs to be carefully considered to ensure that the new building fits in with the surrounding environment.
The recent Needs Consultation has brought some interesting results. A total of 435 individual responses and 25 group responses from Sports Clubs and Community Groups has given the Town Council a good indication of what local people want to see in their community.
One of the most striking messages is that residents are in favour of an improved facility but the value of the leisure time was also of importance. Residents were keen to keep the new pavilion to complement the natural beauty of the park and woodland. Most people want to see improved changing rooms, showers and toilets. This was closely followed by a better kitchen or café facility.
