Following the latest government announcement on restrictions and public gatherings, it is with regret to inform you that this year’s Remembrance Sunday Service in the Memorial Gardens has been cancelled.
However, the Council are encouraging residents and veterans to stand on their doorstep at 11am on Sunday 8th November to honour the 2-minute silence.
With the health and wellbeing of residents and veterans paramount, the doorstep commemoration will give all residents the opportunity to pay their respects as Amersham comes together to reflect and remember on Sunday 8th November 2020.
Town Mayor Mark Flys commented, “While we cannot commemorate Remembrance Sunday in the Memorial Gardens this year to mark this important annual event, we hope that everyone gets involved joining us on their doorstep for a two-minute silence.”
